On February 25, 2021 we are thrilled to unveil the murals and artwork of a collective of artists called Aravani Art Project, from Bangalore, Karnataka. They will talk about their work and themes on a live Zoom interview with our Executive Director John Teply.
We will start the evening with a virtual cooking class led by Chef Deepak Kaul of Bhuna Restaurant, which specializes in Indian Soul Food. (yum!)
We will then have a beautiful bharatanatyam dance performance by Sweta Ravisankar, followed by a variety of performances by the Vayuvya Samskrithika Kendra (VSK) Group including dancing, singing, and acting to share an Hindu epic tale.

On January 28, 2021 we will be exhibiting a mural and artworks by Nigerian-born artist O. Yemi Tubi, followed by a live interview with our director John Teply.
We have quite a lineup of exciting events to celebrate Nigerian and Yoruba cultural heritages as well!
First, we'll start with a live cooking class led by local celebrity chef Salimatu Amabebe, director of Black Feast — an experience that weaves together food and art.
Then we will be led on a virtual tour of the exhibition "Making Matter: Materiality and Technology in Nigerian Art" at the Yemisi Shyllon Museum of Art in Lagos, Nigeria.
We will also have the fantastic opportunity to learn about the art of headwrapping in a virtual expo led by Zarinah El-Amin Naeem of Beautifully Wrapped.
