Next Thursday, January 21 the Elisabeth Jones Art Center will kick off our exciting virtual Global Arts Festival series!
Our premiere event will feature the artwork of Arif Bahaduri and exceptional performances that honor and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Afghanistan!
We will begin the evening with a virtual cooking class led by Chef Halima Bahman who will teach us how to prepare a tasty and authentic Afghan dumpling called "Ashak."
We will then stream a live artist interview between Arif and our Executive Director John Teply.
Afterwards we will "travel" to Kabul, Afghanistan and take a virtual tour of the galleries at the Afghan Cultural House, led by Deputy Director Yousuf Esar.
Finally, we will end the evening with a fantastic LIVE production of a traditional "Attan" dance by a troupe of performers on the ground in Afghanistan.
Don't wait to get your tickets!! This is going to be an extraordinary series of events that will allow you to "travel" all around the globe to taste, see, and hear from many different cultures.
Individual event tickets are $15 and an all-inclusive "passport" for all events is only $50!
We are very excited to be working with Afghan Cultural House for our event celebrating our exchange with Arif Bahaduri, an Afghan artist working in Canada.
