On January 28, 2021 we will be exhibiting a mural and artworks by Nigerian-born artist O. Yemi Tubi, followed by a live interview with our director John Teply. We have quite a lineup of exciting events to celebrate Nigerian and Yoruba cultural heritages as well! First, we'll start with a live cooking class led by local celebrity chef Salimatu Amabebe, director of Black Feast — an experience that weaves together food and art. https://blackfeastdinner.com/ Then we will be led on a virtual tour of the exhibition "Making Matter: Materiality and Technology in Nigerian Art" at the Yemisi Shyllon Museum of Art in Lagos, Nigeria. https://museum.pau.edu.ng/exhibitions/materiality-and-civilization We will also have the fantastic opportunity to learn about the art of headwrapping in a virtual expo led by Zarinah El-Amin Naeem of Beautifully Wrapped. https://www.beautifully-wrapped.com/ Tickets for this event and the all-inclusive "passport" are on sale now.
