Also introducing Juan Sebastian Jimenez Salazar, also known as SEPC Sepc, a fantastic artist adorning the streets of Manizales, Colombia. SEPC's work includes huge, striking portraits and a very clever series of 'Negativos', paintings that are executed in negative so that only with the colors inverted does the image appear normal.
We are also excited to be working with Tarteel Khaled in Egypt! Her glowing, surreal abstract paintings suggest intriguing landscapes. Welcome to the project!
We are welcoming to the project MaryAnn Loo in Singapore, whose work is colorful, fantastical and often populated by penguins!
Another update from the amazing Gegerboyo in Indonesia, working away at some mind-bending drawings!
We are also going to be working with a very exciting artist in Japan, Kaoru Shibuta! Winner of the 14th Arte Laguna prize, Shibuta creates colorful abstract worlds, often inspired by classical music.
We're also announcing a collaboration with Gabriela Ochalik in Poland, an illustrator and printmaker whose work is populated with weird, expressive characters!
We are excitedly awaiting some drawings, on their way to us in the mail from Mwamba Chikwemba in Zambia. In the meantime, check out these pictures she sent us of her work in progress! It looks like beautiful work!
Update from our friends in Indonesia, Geger Boyo, at work on a drawing at Kedai Kebun forum in Yogyakarta! We think this is looking pretty exciting.
Even amid all the chaos, we have exciting news: we're announcing a collaboration with Fabian Solymar, also known as Dagor, a wonderful Venezuelan-Hungarian artist working in Caracas, Venezuela, and using his art for social change and to change the image of his city (see this article: https://www.voanews.com/…/artists-use-street-murals-change-…). Fabian/Dagor's pastel-toned, graphic style is quite particular to him and it's going to be really interesting to see what comes out of our artistic conversation. Check out his excellent Instagram for more work!
This week we are also beginning an exchange with Anna Maria Kasprzak in Cuenca, Spain. Anna is a very exciting emerging artist whose work is experimental and often surreal, inspired by legends and myths. Welcome, Anna!
